Carbon Accounting Platform

Carbon accounting your auditors can verify.

Carbonkindle turns scattered activity data into a structured GHG inventory — Scope 1, 2, and all 15 Scope 3 categories — in the format your auditors and regulators expect.

Designed for alignment with CSRD
GHG Protocol mapping
Scope 1–3 full coverage
Audit trail included

How it works

From raw data to verified disclosure.

From utility bills and procurement data to a CSRD-structured disclosure with a full audit trail.

Collect

Import utility bills, ERP exports, travel expense data, and supplier spreadsheets. Carbonkindle maps each source to the correct GHG Protocol category automatically.

Calculate

Emission factors sourced from IPCC AR6 GWP100, EPA eGRID, and DEFRA conversion tables. Each CO₂e figure links back to the factor used, the activity data it was applied to, and the GHG Protocol category it sits in.

Report

Output CSRD ESRS E1-structured reports and GHG Protocol inventories with a change log your third-party verifier can follow. Restatement protocol supported for year-over-year corrections.

Scope breakdown

What Scope 1, 2, and 3 mean in practice.

Scope 1

Direct emissions from sources your company owns or controls — combustion, on-site processes, company vehicles.

Scope 2

Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heat, and cooling. Carbonkindle calculates both location-based (grid average) and market-based (supplier-specific or residual mix) figures simultaneously.

Scope 3

All other indirect emissions in your value chain — upstream suppliers, downstream product use, business travel, waste disposal. All 15 categories covered.

Regulatory urgency

CSRD reporting obligations are already in force.

Large EU companies filed their first CSRD reports for financial year 2024. Mid-sized EU entities and non-EU companies with material EU revenues are phasing in through 2025–2027. If your company has an EU subsidiary or exceeds CSRD's third-country revenue thresholds, your reporting window is open.

Carbonkindle is structured around ESRS E1 — the climate change standard under CSRD. Scope 1/2/3 GHG data, transition plan documentation, and double materiality workflows are built into the platform, not bolted on.

CSRD Phase-in

2024 Large EU companies (already reporting)
2025 Listed SMEs and additional entities
2026 Smaller companies and US subsidiaries of EU groups
2027 Non-EU companies with large EU revenues

Pilot customers

Early customers building toward disclosure.

Three companies, three disclosure drivers. Each started without an established carbon inventory process.

"We finally have Scope 3 Category 1 data we can defend to our EU retail partners. The sourcing is transparent — every number points back to a methodology document."

Sustainability Lead

Verdana Textiles — mid-market apparel, EU distribution

"Fleet emissions were scattered across three systems. Carbonkindle pulled it into one GHG-Protocol-structured inventory that our board can present to investors."

VP Operations

Merlowe Freight — regional logistics, northeastern US

"Our parent company in Germany needs CSRD-compliant data from our US operations. Carbonkindle was the only tool that understood both sides of that equation."

ESG Manager

Halsten Manufacturing NA — US subsidiary of European industrial group

Our approach

No black-box estimates. Every factor cited.

Every CO₂e figure in Carbonkindle resolves to a published emission factor and a documented calculation path. We draw from IPCC AR6 GWP100 tables, the EPA Emission Factors Hub, DEFRA UK conversion factors, and Ecoinvent v3 for Scope 3 spend-based estimates. No proprietary multipliers.

The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard structures our Scope 1, 2, and 3 inventory. We do not claim GHG Protocol certification — the Protocol is a framework, not an accreditation body.

IPCC AR6 Global warming potentials (GWP100) for all GHG species — CO₂, CH₄, N₂O, and F-gases
EPA US-specific emission factors for electricity, natural gas, refrigerants, and mobile combustion
DEFRA UK UK grid emission factors and conversion factors for freight, travel, and purchased goods
Ecoinvent Lifecycle inventory database for Scope 3 supply chain spend-based emission estimates
